"in the seams" and some yooper fun

i am excited to finally share with you images from my exhibition, in the seams, curated by kristine granger at oasis gallery. kristine did a beautiful job installing the work, just leaving me to place a finishing touch on a piece that requires my handwriting on the wall. it's quite a strange feeling shipping off an exhibition in just a small box and tube, then a week or so later shipping myself off to the gallery to find the my artwork immaculately cared for and installed; it's almost as if i am being reintroduced to the pieces after they've been away for years. strange indeed.

above are all exhibition views, more images of individual works in the show can be seen at my website.

i was fortunate enough to spend a few extra days in marquette after the reception in order to enjoy the open spaces and refreshing spring weather. i spent the days meeting several new friends, hiking along the shore of lake superior, kayaking in the dead river, taking walks through the woods, and indulging in some good food, spirits, and pleasant company. i think i see myself adapting to the yooper (upper peninsula, the u.p.) very easily and hopefully in the near future.

if you look closely, there is a small pug helping to navigate in the green kayak.

kristine searching for another hidden beach.

new friends nicole and her pup, iggy playing on the beach while kristine takes in the glorious day.
