this is glen ligon's first museum retrospective, including his seminal works: diamond dust prints (echoing warhol's own), sculpture and new works on canvas and paper.
sonia delaunay, color moves, the art and fashion of sonia delaunay at cooper hewitt design, national design museum.
encompassing delaunay's oft overlooked textile based works and fabric samples used in collaboration with several paris fashion houses (eventually her own, too) in the 1920s and through mid century. delaunay is most notably tied as a founding member french cubo-futurism, orphism with friend guillaume apollinaire.
infinite variety: three centuries of red and white quilts at park avenue armory via american folk art museum.
this exhibition gathers hundreds of quilts using only red and white in their compositions. sadly this is a short run, only open march 25-30.
luis camnitzer at el museo del barrio
camnitzer's prolific work runs the gambit of politically and socially engaged prints and works on paper that help define a south american aesthetic of print history during the mid to late 20th century, to intimate works drawing on child-like whimsy.
